Manin's Story

“I asked myself how long do I have to live this difficult life, a life being in hell?”

I was ten years old and on the worst night of my life I couldn’t forget, I didn’t know that my father was leaving us. My father died because he got HIV and he didn’t close his eyes because he was thinking of us. We were all crying and I knew that without my father my mum was going to hold all the problems in the family.

Keo Chantha's Story

My life before coming to CCH

My name is Chantha. I’m 15 years old. I’m studying at grade 9 at Samaki High School. I have three brothers, one younger brother and one younger sister.

Before I came to CCH I had been living at the Garbage Dump. When I picked the garbage I was seven years old. My families were very poor and my neighbors were very poor too. There were lots of people that lived near my house. My parents and I were picking the garbage everyday to earn the money for food.

Lon Sambo's Story

My life before CCH

My name is Sambo, I am 14 years old. I am studying in grade 9, at East-West International School. In the future I want to be a doctor.

Before I came to CCH my parents were working as farmer. But I wasn’t living with my parents I was living with my grandmother at Kompong Spue province. Everyday I woke up at 5 o’clock help my grandmother to clean the house and take the cow to the field.
