Keo Chantha's Story

We must get up at 5:30am to pick the garbage near our house. Because when we get up late in the morning there will be have lots of people that pick the garbage like us too. So, if we get up late we will difficult to pick the garbage. When we reach to the garbage mountain we will make a cottage to relax after we finished picking the garbage. Then when we finished with our making we go to pick the garbage. We pick the garbage from 5:30am to 11:00am, but between both times we have to relax for one to two hours. Then after we finished picking the garbage we go to have breakfast at 7:00am. Our breakfasts were fry pork with the rice. Then we relax for fifty minutes. After that we continue to pick the garbage. The garbage that we picked were Plastics, Bottles, Papers, Irons, Card Boxes, Coppers....., else.  We picked the garbage until 11:00am we come back home. When we come home we prepared the garbage to sell to the garbage seller. Before we get to sell to the garbage seller we must divide it in groups like Iron, Plastics, Bottles..., else. Then we get to sell to the garbage seller. Sometime we can earn the money from ten to twenty thousand riel per day. So, if we want lots of money we must work hard together. Sometime my parent doesn’t let me to pick the garbage, but I don’t follow them. Because they both were work very hard everyday. They never get comfortably like other rich peoples. So, they both were very pity. I never go to the public school like other children. Because I don’t have enough money to study at the Public School. I hope that one day I can go to School like other children too.

My life at CCH

On 5th October 2004, my parents and I were picking the garbage; Suddenly Papa Sokha came and gets me to CCH. Before he got me to CCH he took me the picture with my family. Then I say good bye to my family. When I came to CCH first time I feel very happy and excited. Because when I came to CCH first time I think CCH‘s was my big house in my life. When I’m living at CCH I can go to School like other children too. That’s was my dream when I was young. When I came to CCH first time I couldn’t know about how to study Khmer or English language. Before I came to CCH I couldn’t read Khmer or English language, but when I came to CCH I can learn everything that I don’t know before. CCH is making me to be a good child, a good student, a good friend, and a good citizen. CCH is giving me everything that I want. CCH is giving me the comfortable food and comfortable clothes. At CCH we have three times to having food. We have breakfast at 6:00am. We have lunch at 11:30am. We have dinner at 5:00pm. CCH is teaching me how to live far a ways from my family. I love Papa Sokha and CCH so much. Papa Sokha’s the person who was very kind and friendly.
